The light of the sun above pounds down in Xenon's back as she rides the arid winds, fingers littered with burns as she gently keeps a hold of Rhodium's back whilst they watch the desert from below. Her expedition so far has been largely unsuccessful as she scouts out the Ultra Desert, using her pokemon for faster movement through the skies rather than trudging through the sands like some kind of primitive.

But even she knew when enough was enough as the Iron Jugulis lets out a disgruntled series of screeching static noises, too much longer in this heat was going to cause Rhodium to overheat. The girl pats its metal carapace gently to signal it to start descending, hissing as a little bit of the skin on her fingers peels off and sticks to the scalding metal, sizzling like a piece of bacon in a frying pan. Yeah, definitely time to get off and hoof it for a while.

But in the distance she could see a speck of movement trudging across the sands, a dot of black contrasted against the endless tan ocean of sand. The girl smiles as she maneuvers Rhodium to start heading for Frank. "Yooooo! Up here, yoohoo~!" She calls out as she rapidly approaches leaping off of the iron beast of burden as she summons it back into its pokeball and thumps onto the sand.

Water. Ah yes, she did have some water in fact! She probably could have used that towards keeping Rhodium cool, but keeping herself alive was also fairly important in the grand scheme of things, so being reminded that she had water is great actually! "I do have water Frank! It would be pretty stupid for someone to not have water here, we are in the middle of a desert after all haha~" She giggles as she pulls out a large bottle of water from one of the side pockets of the backpack she's wearing, uncapping it nonchalantly and lifting it to her parched lips to take several deep greedy gulps of the life sustaining liquid.

After a few moments of that she rips the bottle away and sighs with deep contentment as she screws the cap back on and tucks the bottle away, turning her attention back to Frank as if she had forgotten he even existed. "Oh hi there! I'm Xenon, pleased to meet me!" Perhaps she did. Who can say?

Soon after another would join the motley crew alongside their Aurorus, with a sandstorm rushing towards them to join in the party. "Oh good, now they get to find our skeletons bunched up together and assume we all knew each other!" Xenon exclaims with glee as she starts looking around for shelter, though all she seems to find is more sand and more dunes leading absolutely nowhere. Or at least, that's what it looks like on a surface level.

Without explanation the two strangers would suddenly see the girl diving down onto the ground and staring at a patch of sand, on her hands and knees as she squints down at the innocuous land with a deadly serious expression. "Mhm.... yep. Yeah. Alright time to go!" And just like that she's back on her feet and running away from the storm, eyes still locked to the ground as she stares at some imperceptible path that only she can see. But she's running with confidence, so maybe it's best to follow her? It's either that or get ripped apart by the storm!

Xenon uses her skills as a researcher to spot faint tracks left behind in the sand before they get buried by the sandstorm, chasing after them to find the shelter that this pokemon is using to hide.

To say that she was trying to save "them" was probably an exaggeration, it was really more like she was trying to save herself and the two strangers had the opportunity to latch onto her coattails and ride along to safety with her. But hey, if they wanted to believe she was trying to save them, that wasn't really something that concerned her in the slightest!

Xenon's pathing is erratic and nonsensical to the casual observer, random turns and zigzags scrape precious seconds off the clock as the storm grows closer and closer with every passing moment, even Xenon is starting to sweat as she picks up her pace, sprinting along this invisible set of tracks as cold sweat trickles down the nape of her neck. There's barely even a picosecond to spare as a rocky outcropping comes into view, the trio diving into safe cover as the biting sands rush around them and blanket the area in a brown cloud of death.

Its only once Xenon is absolutely sure she's safe that all the tension leaves her body and she collapses onto the ground, her chest heaving with exertion as she reaches back into her coat to pull out her water bottle. "Damn! Another second out there and we would have gotten turned into shredded beef huh, haha~" The way she says it is casual, frivolous almost, like she almost got caught up in city traffic rather than having the flesh stripped from her bones by a million bits of sand particulate moving at mach speeds.

"Well, I'm here to do some scouting for my bosses I guess! Would much rather have gotten sent to that new Ultra Space that got discovered, but you win some you lose some." She shrugs as she moves to unscrew the cap of her water bottle, only now realizing that the cap was missing. Seems she had forgotten to screw it back on. "Anyone want some water?" It seems rather uncharacteristically kind of her to offer, but anyone who took the bottle from her outstretched hand would look inside and find it... well, rather polluted by sand. Lots and lots of sand.

Her attention snaps to the second stranger upon mention of his name, she cared little for past meetings and one time acquaintances, but she could certainly remember the pokemon attached to that name as she adjusts her glasses and narrows her eyes. "Ohhh.... you're here too huh? Did you bring the little future dude with you too?"

He's smart enough to refuse the offer of water outright, her smirk grows a little wider as she wordlessly turns towards Frank and swishes the water around a little bit, a keen ear could probably hear the particles of sand clinking against the metal inside of the bottle, yet he takes the bait regardless and swipes the bottle from her outstretched hand. She only wished he could have been so hasty as to drink it without even looking, but the look of hope dying in his eyes is more than good enough for her as she barely suppresses a mean spirited laugh.

"Or something would be the best description. Fossils and archaeology don't really interest me in the slightest, but there's things that I need to find here that I can only find here." Things like Pokemon from another world, Beasts that aren't quite the ideal future she's looking for, but an alternate present that was still very interesting... "Did you two see that?"

It was a shadow in the corner of her vision, something watching from the sandstorm that made its presence known for only a fraction of a second, but she knows she saw something. Her head turns away from Frank as she tentatively crawls away from the safety of the outcropping, trying to see what that thing was without getting her face torn off by the sand... but it's gone already. Damnit.
